To become an Integrity Safety Instructor:
Applicants desiring instructor certification shall meet the following requirements:
Instructor Certification:
- Flagging instructor applicants shall provide proof of:
- A current State Card
- Successfully completing a WSDOT approved Traffic Control Supervisor’s (TCS) course within 4 years
- Completion of a TCOC approved training providers Washington State flagging instructor certification class
- The certification class will be a twenty-one (21) hours and shall include the following:
Day One
- How to get students involved in the course
- Administrative responsibilities
- Go through the Flagger Course
Day Two
- Adult learning needs
- Developing effective teaching skills
- How to use course materials
- Review of The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
- ANSI standard ISEA-107-2015
- Review of flagging and traffic control changes
- Review of M54-44
- Review of ADA requirements
- Review of flagging accidents
Day three
- Participants teach a section from Student manual
- Participants model hands on portions of class
- Group discussions including techniques and strategies
