Requirements for initial TCSThe following list is a summary of the requirements to be certified as a Traffic Control Supervisor: -Submit two letters of recommendation from previous employers or persons familiar with the applicant’s traffic control and related workzone safety experience. (May be one letter and two signatures) -Submit/Possess a valid Washington State flagging card or reciprocating state flagger card. -Pass the WSDOT TCS examination with a score of 80% or greater and complete the test within 2 hours. -Provide proof of 2,000 hours of traffic control or related workzone safety experience. Work experience shall include at least two of the following: -Developing traffic control plans (TCPs) for roadway maintenance, construction, utility work or special events. -Reviewing TCPs for proper application and MUTCD compliance. -Inspection of traffic control devices and TCP performance and reporting or correcting deficiencies -Installing and removing traffic control devices in accordance with TCPs for lane closures on multilane roadways and other traffic control operations. -FlaggingClick here to download a template attestation of hours letter.
